Day Sixty-two

  1. The strength to tell dad it hurt to learn they had not added me back in the will yet.  He was neither terribly apologetic or defensive, but seemed at least to have heard me and, in the end, what matters most is the speaking of it.  I understood why they wrote out, but I was sad to learn that all these years later I was still out.  That I had thoughts things were good between us.  He agreed that they were and just didn’t seem to connect what being written out of the will would have to do with that.  But I said what I felt and the resentment is substantially eased.  Our conversation after was open and honest.
  2. My foot resting against Coco’s back, her warm fur, as she snoozes at the foot of the bed.
  3. I can change a tire.  I did it today for the first time in 20 years.
  4. The heat of Georgia sunshine in August.
  5. Cherry’s successful cryoablation surgery to treat her Atrial Fibrillation.

Many thanks,

Me
