Day One Hundred Forty-one

  1. OKCupid asks for 6 things “I can’t live without”.  Lots of people put “oxygen” being funny, but it’s true; as well as hydrogen and carbon and potassium and on and on through how many elements?  Are there any elements in the universe that I can live without?  Can I live without the 31 grams of astatine in Earth?  So let’s put the whole periodic table on here.
  2. Cashmere
  3. Lucia Berlin, whose collection of short stories “A Manual for Cleaning Women” I’m so enjoying.
  4. Mom’s compulsive letter writing and journaling which created the archive of documentation from the darkest days of my youth; including written evidence (of what?) in the form of an 8th Step list on which neither Thomas nor I appeared.
  5. MRI.  Dad had one today.  I had one in 2004 to rule out a brain tumor.

Many thanks,

Me
