Day One Hundred

  1. Day one hundred.  Wow.  I may not have done this for a 100 consecutive days, but pretty close to it.  The fact that I’ve done it a hundred times at all is amazing and I really can’t take much credit for it.*
  2. The warmth of the sun on my face while I walked Coco and Baby Girl.  I can’t believe I’ve gone 100 entries without (to my recollection) noting the warmth of the sun.
  3. The desperate share from Emily, who is out of jail 3 days, lost her husband to the disease 6 months ago – “I found him hanging” – and who so badly wants to get better.
  4. Signing up for OKCupid, which has mostly been an exercise in compulsive refreshing and angst over no one liking me; however, completing the profile forced me look at a stack of things I like about myself, and how much more valuable is that?
  5. I can drive and have afternoons like yesterday, exploring the North Georgia Mountains between here (Ellijay) and Helen.  Although the road up to Anna Ruby Falls was closed for the day; I missed it by about 5 minutes**.

Many thanks,

Me

* I sat on this entry for several days; perhaps it was performance anxiety over making the 100th entry “special” somehow.  I’m grateful to be moving on to 101.

** And who knows what disastrous event was avoided by those 5 minutes.  So thanks for whatever didn’t happen.
