Day Ninety-six

  1. The afternoon with Preston and Hudson and later dinner with the girls.  The children reminding me that I’m not as averse to parenthood as I have always been.  Perhaps step-parenthood.
  2. The ham Cherry prepared, along with blueberry muffins, broccoli, and potato casserole topped with corn flakes.
  3. First responders:  the police, fire department, and EMT.  So easy to forget the pervading sense of peace and security I have because I know they are out there.
  4. MLB.com and the ability to listen to the Toronto/Texas game, though I don’t really care about it.  Or maybe especially because I don’t care about it.
  5. I can move slowly and barely smile.  I might be slipping into a depression; we’ll see how the medication and my practice hold up.  In the meantime, my work and circumstances allow me to be as I am, feel as I feel, and hunker down while the storm passes.  I can move slowly and barely smile.

Many thanks,

Me
