Day Forty-four

  1. My luxuriously lazy, blissfully uneventful day today.  The sort of summer Sunday that makes the rest of the year worthwhile.
  2. These delicious Biscoff crackers with “Delta” stamped on them.  I’m sure they can be purchased someplace else, but I only know them from Delta and they are a source of my loyalty to the airline.
  3. The freckle on Heather Graham’s arm and the cells within it, which are no more or less beautiful, famous, or wealthy than those in the anonymous freckle on my foot.
  4. Bill Wilson’s letter to the Grapevine about “emotional sobriety”, a lovely essay on the failings of dependence upon people or circumstances for peace of mind and joy.
  5. The terrific game last night.  Cards scored 2 in the top of the 10th and the Pirates responded with 3 in the bottom to win.  A great way to go into the All-Star break.

Many thanks,

Me
