Day Eighty-five

  1. During one of his addresses, Pope Francis asked people to pray for him and added, “if any of you are not a believer, I ask you to wish me well,” which is lovely sentiment.  He’s win a fan here.
  2. The smell of a freshly extinguished candle.
  3. My new iPhone.  It may be a little too big, but I’m grateful to be able to afford it and to live in a society where such things are possible.  It occurred to me today that its workings, specifically the screen, may as well be magic as far as I know.
  4. Sitting in my dark, cool living room, quietly writing my thank you notes.  It’s peaceful.
  5. Peace.  There is so, so much war and conflict on nations and personal levels and at the moment I have none in my life at all,

Many thanks,

Me

P.s.  I called the court to find out what happened to Raymond and he was found guilty of all charges.  3 counts each of first and second degree robbery and one of possession of stolen goods.  I wasn’t convinced of his guilt and so I guess it’s just as well that I was an alternate juror and didn’t deliberate or decide.  He’s probably at Riker’s right now, or Sing Sing, or wherever convicted felons are sent and will be there for the next few years.  Prayers to him.
