1. Nancy and I are married. October 10, 2017.
2. Lake Placid Lodge, Judge Deiteich, and Eden – who was our coordinator, witness, and photographer – and all the other people who made our wedding and honeymoon so special: the housekeepers; the firewood guys who loaded up our fireplace everyday; the cooks; the waitstaff; the maintenance people who kept it all going; the front office and reservation people; and all the ones I’m forgetting.
3. Nancy, herself, the truest gift of sobriety I have. A relationship with her would have been impossible if I were drinking.
4. Our timing could not have been more absolutely perfect. It was peak leaf season (to the week and day as far as I know) and stunning.
5. All the failed marriages and dating mishaps along the way that made this new era possible.
