1. Thomas is visiting. It’s so good to see him.
2. We had Lebanese for his birthday; it’s what he wanted, and it was really, really good.
3. I have the means to fly him out and put him up. I told him it was on points – and the flight was, actually, on miles. But I’m paying for the Holiday Inn and whatever, and I’m happy to be able to.
4. He seems well. In ways I can’t name, better than I’ve seen him. He’s better spoken and more “clear” than many times in the past.
5. I’m grateful – though the word is too small – to have had him in my life all these years.
