- Winston Churchill.
- “Darkest Hour” which we just watched and I enjoyed. And, hence, gratitude for Winston Churchill.
- The incredible courage of the British people weathering the Blitzkrieg. An inspiration for the ages. All those people who died unknown and with no idea they’d be an inspiration to some random guy 70 years later writing a gratitude list on his phone in his bed.
- This building existed then. My bedroom was someone’s office while the war was unfolding in Europe. Whoever was sitting here could never have foreseen me in my bed, and would not recognize this thing in my hands as a phone. Sometimes it drives me crazy that I can never know the layout of the office(s) that was/were once this apartment, but I do love knowing they were here once.
- The view from my bed of the Brooklyn Bridge, which was also here then (the view, I mean).
Many thanks,
Me
