- A couple of slices of pizza at the place on the corner, watching the NCAA championship game (Clemson).
- My new humidifier.
- The speaker tonight who talked openly about his doubts of God in a world so full of pain and heartbreak (he returned to that word often). It set a stage for others to talk about fears of pointlessness.
- My insight, unshared, that only humans care about whether something has a point or not. It might be pointless and a swirl of chaos going nowhere and yet if that’s the case, its okay, because if that’s the case it is What Is. And it’s up to me to choose whether to bring my wishes into line with What Is, or to wish for something else. The insight gave me peace for a moment.
- Meryl Streep, speaking truth to power. Stephen Colbert making fun of it. Congressional Democrats, The New York Times, the ACLU and all the others I can turn over to. I don’t have to chew myself up with worry.
Many thanks,
Me
