Day 2

  1. The Times Square subway station, for all its texture, character, and labyrinthine mystery. After all these years I still only barely know my way around.
  2. My Apple Watch, which really has helped keep me more mobile. I haven’t last any weight yet, but I have a fairly good exercise program going: running three-ish miles at least three times a week.
  3. Amy Zuckerman. I’m headed into my appointment now. It’s dull and pulling teeth when things are going well – I’m standing across the street right now, intentionally making myself a little late – but I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.
  4. The brownies Nancy made this weekend.
  5. I am sober today. I got a text message at 3:08AM from someone who relapsed New Year’s Eve.
