1. There was a problem with one of the slide-advancers and so when the speaker clicked “next”, the A/V crew advanced the slides for him. The results he was seeing were not a direct result of his actions; there was an intermediary of which he was not and will never be aware. I’m sure I have many intermediaries, as well – including one Big One – and I am grateful for those interventions, though I don’t know what they were.
2. The scrambled eggs were good this morning.
3. I spoke to Thomas a while last night, and though he continues to struggle and is very depressed, he is still alive.
4. The security people wired Mom’s house today.
5. All of these doctors, who have dedicated their lives to helping others.
