1. The fruit vendor on Third Avenue:  a splash of light and color and life in an otherwise dark cold street.
2. The cleaning woman in Chase, working alone after hours.
3. The episode of Black Mirror I watched tonight:  “Playtest”.
4. I was unhappy with Chuck Schumer’s vote to waive the 7-year requirement between military service and cabinet position for Mattis, and I sent him tweet, politely saying so.  For all the trouble it’s caused, the Internet allowed me to see how he voted and then communicate with him (not that anyone replied, of course).
5. The color blue; especially midnight blue; and especially when it’s actually in the sky at midnight.
